I have been involved with and passionate about fitness my entire adult life. Growing up with exercise and allergy induced asthma, it was tough to keep up with the other kids and almost impossible to be consistent with exercise. Despite my parents best efforts to get me to exercise, a 6 to 8 hour video game thumb workout became about as rigorous of a routine as I was going to put myself through. At age 20 I realized I felt worse than I ever had my entire life. I was overweight, tired all the time, and I had no energy or motivation to accomplish anything and unless I did something about it, things would probably continue to roll downhill.
It was then that I decided it was time to make a change, and a healthy lifestyle may be just what I needed to get myself up and moving forward. I started doing regular weight lifting which got boring fast. I found kickboxing and eventually moved into MMA training. After that I really missed the intensity and needed something to fill the hole. Shortly after in 2007 Randy, Dan and I found CrossFit. What started out as dumbbell curls, pull downs, and bench press every other day when I first started working out, has now turned into 400m sprints, Olympic lifts, and workouts that include up to 100+ pull ups compared to not being able to pull myself 1 inch closer to a pull up bar from a dead hang years prior. I’m very passionate about what I do and I absolutely love using the knowledge I’ve gained over the years to help people achieve the same success I have.
I am Crossfit Level 1 trainer certified, Crossfit Endurance trainer certified, and I have completed the Crossfit Coaches Prep Course. I plan on continuing my exercise education to apply to others as well as myself to provide the best training I can offer to get you above and far beyond your goals.
I firmly believe if you want to get in shape and turn yourself around, you cannot approach fitness with a “New Years resolution” mentality. It’s not an overnight fix, it’s not a “reach one goal” and you’re done type deal; it’s a lifestyle change. Living a fit and healthy lifestyle will positively affect every aspect of your life and help you reach every short and long term goal you set in front of yourself. No diet fad or magic pill is going to get you the active, healthy life you’re looking for. If you want to feel great, look better, and become stronger, faster, and better conditioned; this is the stuff that works. Get out there, give it a shot, and I guarantee you’ll love what you get out of it.
